Castaway Painting Retreat 

& Castaway Kanikapila Party at White Sands Hotel, Waikiki

This 2-day painting workshop and the final Castaway Kanikapila Party will be a highly educational and bonding experience that will be televised on a special episode of the Painting in Paradise tv show. This will be a rare opportunity for a select group of artists.

 

Held on Memorial Day weekend 2022, The Castaway Painting Retreat coincides with Patrickʻs 60th Birthday (an important event in Chinese culture).

 

There will only be a small number of painters participating in the classes which will be held at the White Sands Hotel on May 28 and 29 from 9-12 am. 

 

Castaway attire is the theme. Anything from Gilliganʻs Island to Carmen Miranda is appropriate. The White Sands Hotel is a unique three-story oasis in Waikiki with a pool, a coconut frond-roofed circular bar, and a nostalgic atmosphere.

The paintings that participants will create will be tropical island-themed. It could be a surf shack and lagoon, a fish, a flower, or more. Think of something youʻd like to say about your painting for the TV.  Patrick will help you plan your painting before we start the first class. We will be using acrylic paints on these 11x14” Paintings.

The Price for the 2 workshops and all paint and supplies is $595 (plus tax).  Participants are also required to get a pool view room at the hotel on May 28 and 29 at $295 per night (includes taxes and all fees but not parking).

We will celebrate the finished paintings and Patrickʻs Birthday with a Gilliganʻs Island Style Castaway Paʻina (Party) from 5 pm - 9 pm on May 29 with special musicians KIMO KAHOANO and TAVANA.

 

*Participants will receive 2 free tickets to this event ($50 value each).
